About me
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, I look at every person in every situation from a bio-psycho-social-spiritual perspective. I join my clients wherever they are in their lives with a strengths-based focus. How you relate to your past is important, but how you translate that to your present and set intentions for your future is what makes the difference in how you live your life.
Life is full of transitions, and every transition brings opportunities and growth edges along with the inevitable fear and loss. Sometimes we resist the growing pains of change, but a life without change is both impossible and boring. How can we best stay connected with our integrity and authentic voice as we move through the big transitions in life, such as developing or changing careers, entering or exiting relationships, coming out, becoming a parent in any sense of the word, or letting go of old roles to transition into new ones because of a death, divorce, a change in health or an empty nest? Our bodies, our family constellations, our focus and energy all shift over time, and we need to find ways to stay true to ourselves throughout the tumultuous, glorious and overwhelming times of our lives.
While dealing with major life transitions can be frightening and confusing, it can also present opportunities for growth and connection that you may never have imagined. Every major life transition offers a chance for us to reflect, re-evaluate, and set our intentions for how we want to move forward. We have to pay attention in order to live on purpose. That takes courage and sometimes calls for guidance and support. Sometimes saying things out loud gives us new insights, and what we need most is someone to ask us the big questions.
I provide therapy and grief counseling in Santa Cruz County, CA, with a focus on living with intention and cultivating a sense of wellness and wholeness. If you are struggling with grief or anxiety as you face a significant loss or a big transition in your life, I hope you will contact me to see if I might be the guide you need to help you navigate your path. I love working with adults to help them become fully present in and accepting of their current situation in order to set their intentions for moving forward to live their most true, authentic and fulfilling lives. My goal is to help people cultivate wellness even in the midst of difficult circumstances. This passion grew from 25 years of work in health care with a focus on palliative care and hospice. I’ve spent the majority of my career with people living with serious illness, caregiving stress and grief. I know how to hold space for big feelings and deep explorations.
I look forward to the opportunity to help you live with intention, strengthen your resilience and maintain a sense of wellness, wholeness and integrity.
