About me
I help people deal with depression, anxiety, trauma and challenging life transitions. I have experience working with diverse populations. I am inspired by and look for resiliency in people and believe there is good in everyone. I have seen what encouragement and skill-building can do to help others find ways to self-empowerment. I am aware of the courage it takes to start therapy and I am grateful to be part of that process. I take a nonjudgmental approach to sensitive topics in therapy and enjoy open and supportive dialog in sessions.
Before becoming a therapist, I owned my own business and also worked in customer service and technical jobs. I have always wanted to serve others and found that all roads prepared me for my role as a therapist. My most important role was in local community service organizations, helping provide more access to those in need of mental health services. I worked with the local schools to reduce truancy and gang violence. I worked with the Salvation Army to link individuals to emergency food and housing programs. I worked with other local businesses, churches, and politicians to improve programs. Throughout my journey, I learned that there was a need for more qualified therapists who were also interested in being change agents. I am passionate about working with people and enjoy what I do!
