Verified clinicians have had their licenses confirmed by our staff at the time they create their profile. We also require all verified therapists keep their licensing information up to date in order to maintain verified status.
Send your prospective therapist a brief message about why you’re seeking support, your preference for in-person or telehealth services, and how you’d like to be contacted moving forward. Note: Answers to many common questions can be found on the therapist’s profile page. If this is an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest hospital.
I am an experienced therapist who is dedicated to creating healthy family relationships and changing generational patterns. Addressed issues consist of anxiety, anger management, grief, divorce, domestic violence, and parenting.
Does your child's behavior embarrass you? Make you feel like a failure? How can a tiny human make you feel such guilt and shame? You are not alone. I've been there too! I've experienced the screaming child drawing everyone's judgmental eyes to you. Behavior is just a response to something going on beneath the surface. Think of an iceberg. We only see the tip (the behavior). There's a huge block of ice that no one sees below the waterline. Children don't have language skills to tell you. Heck, adults have a difficult time. Interventions that do not require vocabulary are powerful and can assist in lasting change.
Sandtray therapy assists to expose the things we have an inability to speak of. Once in the sand, they can be processed. Themes and patterns keep you trapped in repeating scenarios. Diagnoses, behaviors, failed or troubled relationships, are simply symptoms of deeper hurts. The dots may never be connected continuing hurts to be passed to the next generation.
I was once the parent of a struggling child. You're not the "worst parent ever." You're just one that's struggling to do the best you can. Children do not come with instruction manuals. Our experiences influences parenting.
