I am Sylvia Thomas, a licensed independent social worker-supervisor[LISW-S]. I commend you for coming out of your comfort zone to seek help for sensitive issues that have been bothersome. A compassionate and caring Masters level, licensed independent social worker-S. Veteran of Regular U.S. Army and Air Force. Retired from the VA Healthcare System. My treatment approach for Individual Therapy & Counseling begins with motivational interviewing, client-centered, strengths-based and changes with behaviors and/or branches out to what works in collaboration with the Client. Some evidenced based therapies used are Cognitive Behavior, Dialectical Behavior, Humanistic, Existential, Narrative Therapy, and others as indicated. I believe I can be an asset to I respect the Clients priorities and have the desire to understand their needs. I offer flexible hours and regular virtual contact. Specializing in Military, Veterans, Mental Health [Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, Schizophrenia, Anger, Grief/Loss], Work Life Balance, Aging, Co-dependency, Post Traumatic Stress Disorders, Adverse Childhood Experiences and other Trauma, Substance Use/Co-occurring disorders. My sessions are relaxed, positive, and sometimes can be fun!
