Dr. Baker earned her doctoral degree in clinical psychology in 2006 from the Minnesota School of Professional Psychology. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Minnesota Veteran’s Home in Minneapolis, MN. Her training includes assessment and treatment of individuals with Anxiety, Depression, Bipolar Disorder, Schizophrenia, Chemical Dependency, Personality Disorders, Developmental Disabilities and those with histories of Trauma. Dr. Baker has experience in various forms of assessment including cognitive & intellectual, neuropsychological screenings, personality measures, and court-ordered evaluations for adults with mental illness. Dr. Baker has experience in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings, including crisis facilities, hospital and forensic settings, and private practice. In 2009, Dr. Baker co-founded a private practice in the South Metro area where she provided outpatient mental health services, consultation and supervision, and administrative direction.
Dr. Baker specializes in therapy services for adolescents and adults, and focuses on the unique qualities of the individual, couple, or group. She also provides therapy for relational issues, coping with grief and loss, identity development, ADHD, those with cognitive impairment, and LGBTQIA+ identifying individuals. Her theoretical orientation is integrative with a particular emphasis on Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy (DBT) approaches as well as Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) techniques. She works collaboratively with her clients and often incorporates eastern philosophy and meditation exercises that enhance well-being and internal growth into her therapeutic practices. Dr. Baker enjoys expanding her areas of expertise and contributing to the growth of other clinicians through professional support and case consultation.
