I have been a licensed professional counselor for the past seventeen years. I have experience in community mental health and have been in private practice for the past four years. I work with adults, focusing on depression and anxiety, adapting to life transitions, relationship with self and others, career exploration, mind/body/spirit connection, substance issues, spiritual and/or religious belief systems, death/bereavement, divorce, grief, loss.

There are times when we need someone to listen…when we need a safe space to talk, welcomed and heard by a compassionate listener. We all need to be heard. Our stories matter. Our feelings matter…Irvin Yalom, psychotherapist and writer, refers to the counseling relationship as one of “fellow travelers” navigating together the client’s story, finding the answers that lie within you…Taking the step to start counseling is not easy. My approach is gentle, respectful, curious, compassionate…we go at your pace, based on your interests, strengths, needs, and preferences.
It can be daunting to think about addressing thoughts and feelings. Often, we find ways to distract ourselves from being with discomfort. Over time, holding and pushing down emotions gets exhausting and affects our functioning and sense of well-being.
