About me

I have worked in the behavioral health field for over ten years and enjoy working with individuals, couples, and families who are ready to create positive change in their lives. I enjoy working with children, adolescents, and adults. I have experience supporting others who are experiencing depression, other mood disorders, anxiety, PTSD and other trauma, addictions, stress management, unhealthy interpersonal relationships, and parent/child relationships. I believe that therapy is about exploring the whole self, becoming the best version of yourself, and working on positive changes to improve quality of life. The therapist provides support, skills development, and guidance to empower clients to achieve their personal goals. The change process can be challenging. It is my goal to build an open, nonjudgmental, and trusting relationship with my clients. Therapy is a safe place to have difficult conversations, have and resolve conflicts, and experience your authentic self, by learning to co

I have worked in the mental health and wellness field for over 10 years. I earned my bachelor’s degrees in psychology and sociology and a master’s degree in clinical social work. I am a certified substance use disorder professional (CP00001204) and a licensed associate clinical social worker (SC61289790) with the Washington State Department of Health. My work history includes working at substance use disorder treatment and mental health facilities with multidisciplinary teams. I have worked as a case manager, care coordinator, counselor, and therapist. My work experience has provided me with the opportunities to work with children, adolescent, adults, couples, and families.

I have found that people are doing the best they can with the knowledge and skills they have in the moment. We can learn to develop new thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that improve their quality of life. My therapeutic approaches include cognitive-behavioral therapy, mindfulness, cognitive processing therapy, conflict resolution and problem-solving, dialectical behavior therapy, family systems therapy, motivational interviewing, trauma focused therapy, and communication skills development. The intervention utilized in therapy is adapted to each individual client and their goals for therapy. I have utilized these methods to support others who are experiencing life changes, addiction, anxiety, depression and other mood disorders, interpersonal relationship problems, family problems, traumatic experiences, low self-worth, and coping with stressors. Establishing a therapeutic relationship is essential to the therapy process. The therapeutic relationship is built on trust, feeling safe, and positive connection that empowers the therapist and client.
