I am a mindfulness based, trauma informed therapist with decades of practical, professional, and personal experience in the healing process.

As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I am fulfilling a lifelong dream. From as early as age 8, I was interested in studying the human experience any way I could. I loved reading the question and answer series, Dear Abby (dating myself, I know!) in the Sunday newspaper and Can This Marriage Be Saved? In my mom’s Ladies Home Journal.

Formal education came much later after a couple decades in the School of Hard Knocks. I worked and trained in the human services field while raising my children and piecing together an education. I graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and after an 11 year career as a social worker helping families, kids, disabled adults, and the elderly, I finally realized my dream of completing my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy. I have dedicated the last 11 years to this profession and all the amazing clients I serve! I learn something new every day, and I am constantly adding fresh insights to my therapist tool box.

I like to put the client in the driver’s seat of their own therapy. I want to hear your story, your successes, and your challenges. I will use your past experiences and current strengths to help you craft a better today and an awesome tomorrow!

As with any form of self improvement, there are growing pains. Sometimes we want to shy away from the path to greatness in trepidation of those growing pains. I will be there to guide you along the path because I have been there myself, and I know the joy and peace that lies on the other side.

For me as a therapist, true healing is the goal. I cannot remove challenges from your life, but I can teach you how to be resilient, courageous, and, if you are willing, loving and compassionate toward yourself.

I provide choices to my clients in what therapy tools they prefer. Talk therapy, guided imagery for parts work and inner wisdom, inner child work, homework assignments, meditation, worksheets, handouts, and continually adding more for you to pick and choose from.

Whether you are looking for relationship help or individual counseling, I am here to help!
