About me
I am a therapist and social worker dedicated to helping adults and adolescents with a broad variety of concerns, with a special interest in trauma.
Sometimes, the stress, depression, or anxiety we experience can be so overwhelming that we feel alone in our pain. I'm here to listen to you and put your experiences at the center. My purpose is to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you are seen, supported, and encouraged. Together, we can work through the difficult thoughts, feelings, and behaviors you experience and help you regain your sense of control.
My approach:
My goal is to be a radically compassionate, nonjudgmental advocate for you, wherever you find yourself right now. My approach is humanistic and draws from cognitive behavioral therapy, non-violent communication, and motivational interviewing. I am interested in providing you with a variety of options and ideas so we can explore what will help you the most personally.
Who I work with:
I work with both adults and adolescents from all experiences and backgrounds. I am eager to work with you on any struggles and any goals that are relevant to you. I approach my clients with cultural humility and love working with clients of all races, ethnicities, genders, sexualities, abilities, backgrounds, and religions. I am an actively anti-racist and actively LGBTQIA2S+ affirming therapist. I respect the unique strengths you have and I take the obstacles you face seriously.
My background:
I have a strong background and interest in working with trauma survivors, particularly survivors of childhood trauma. I am in the process of becoming a nationally certified TF-CBT (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) therapist. I would love to help you or your teenager through the healing journey of TF-CBT treatment.
I also have specific professional interest in working with the following groups:
*all people of color, especially the Latino community
*LGBTQ+ folks, including trans folks, non-binary and gender non-conforming folks, and queer youth
*other social workers and mental health professionals
*teenagers/adults involved in the child welfare system
*survivors of child sexual abuse
*individuals with bipolar disorder
If you would like to learn more about how you or your teenager can grow through therapy, please contact my office. Friendly administrative support staff can assist you in scheduling an appointment.
