About me
I am a passionate Marriage and Family therapist who is dedicated to a therapuetic process which encourages transparency, vulnerability and hopeful progression that maximizes life experiences.
As a native of Chicago, Illinois, I moved to Texas with my mom and older sister when I was ten years old. It was at that time when my mom’s battle with mental illness became more apparent, which drove my initial interest in counseling. This interest soon developed into a passion to help individuals, couples, families, and marriages survive and thrive through their toughest moments. I believe that family attachments in life are significant and the lack of them creates situations that can be overwhelming and hard to navigate. My approach is to facilitate an environment filled with trust, humility, and free of judgment in order to explore emotions and vulnerabilities that lie below the surface. Based on the individual needs of the clients, I utilize many modalities including Emotionally Focused Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Attachment Theory. Areas of expereince include, but are not limited to: anxiety; prenatal, postnatal and postpartum support,; depression; racial anxiety; relationship issues; transitions; divorce and seperation; co-parenting; and self-esteem.
