Shirley DeRosa, LPC, NCC

I am an experienced mental health counselor who is dedicated to helping individuals, families, and couples cope with anxiety, depression, and every day life stressors in order to gain a balanced and fulfilling life.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a diverse range of experiences in the mental health field. I have worked in a number of settings to include community-based services, and private practice. I have worked with individuals from pre-adolescent, adolescents, adults, and couples, and a wide range of mental health conditions ranging from anxiety, depression, life transitions, and relationship conflicts, to more severe mental health disorders.

I received my BA in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Florida Atlantic University, and my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, with a focus on trauma. I continue my professional development through trainings and certifications in trauma and couples. I am National Certified Counselor through the Board of National Certified Counselors, and I am licensed by the Virginia board of counseling. I am affiliated with the American Counseling Association and the Virginia Counseling Association.

Grounded on the belief that everyone has the potential to heal and grow, I use an integrated approach to help individuals reach their goals. I work collaboratively with my clients in creating personalized interventions supported by evidenced based treatments
