About me
I tend to have a solution focused approach and will use a variety of strategies depending on the situation or presenting complaint. Trained in dialectical behavior therapy and cognitive-behavioral therapy I routinely work with individual clients to resolve trauma, grief and loss, relationship issues, decision making, depression, and anxiety.
Upon graduating high school in 2002, I joined the United States Marine Corps. I served as a correctional officer for over 4 years and Deputy Sheriff with the Lake County Sheriff’s department for 12 1/2 years. I’m certified as a D.A.R.E. officer which allows me to teach youth about drug abuse and resistance. I switched career paths to become an educator teaching exceptional student education (ESE)/high risk students within a middle school. Educating our troubled youth has always been a priority, especially to those in need of a role model. I graduated from Grand Canyon university with a Bachelors degree in criminal justice (Summa Cum Laude) and Master of Science in Addiction Counseling (Alpha Chi). I’m pursuing further credentialing within trauma counseling, gaining a post-masters degree.
