About me
By taking a strengths based, solution focused approach to therapy, I am able to meet you where you are and assist you with realizing your full potential in order to reach your goals. I offer support for adolescents & their families, adults, and elders.
I’m Sarah Trepp, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Connecticut. I’ll share a little information about my training as well as what you can expect during our work together.
During my second year at Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service, I trained at Yale New Haven Psychiatric Hospital (YPH) working with young adults in an acute care setting.
After graduating from Fordham with my MSW, I was offered a clinical social work position across five inpatient psychiatric units at YPH. Throughout my time there, I’ve been able to work with adolescents, adults, and older adults; individuals, families, and groups.
I began seeing individual clients through private practice once I received my LCSW. Here I found my passion for working with adolescents and adults on learning and implementing coping techniques in order to manage the challenges life can present.
I work with clients managing depression, anxiety, life transitions, substance use, interpersonal & family conflict, and career & school related stress.
My primary purpose is to offer you a safe space, support, and compassion during this time.
During our work together, we may use DBT & CBT informed practices as well as Mindfulness & Relaxation Techniques. With these tools you’ll learn how to build self esteem, tolerate difficult emotions, improve communication & relationships, and experience growth.
Entering therapy for any reason can be nerve wracking. It might be difficult to ask for help in a time of need. I can be there to support you as you begin this journey. Please do not hesitate to reach out.
