About me
My hope for therapy is to offer a safe space where collaboration and connection are the forefront of our relationship.
I'm a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and have been practicing therapy since 2016. I'm here to help you feel seen, validated and unburdened. I see you as the expert of your own life and me as your co-pilot. Rather than focusing on diagnoses and labels, I want to hear your story.
I have had the honor to work with hundreds of clients collaborating on issues related to relationships, anxiety, shame, guilt, depression, identity, trauma, life transitions and parenting among many others. In addition to the issues above, I hold a special place for the LGBTQ+ community and therapy addressing boundary setting, codependency and self-trust, developmental and interpersonal trauma, re-parenting (e.g. learning how to identify, process and break old patterns developed from childhood), perinatal (prenatal and postpartum) depression and anxiety and women navigating motherhood. Finally, I specialize in pre-parental counseling: a unique experience for both seasoned parents (and parents-to-be) aimed to prepare (or improve) your relationship for parenting. Topics explored often include: ways to establish healthier communication, clarifying expectations and roles, processing worries and fears, identifying triggers, coping strategies, and exploring one's family of origin.
Approach: My approach is trauma-informed and relational. This means I explore how one's past can impact one's present. My style is conversational and warm; you can expect me to facilitate a safe space for you to do the work. In sessions, I welcome and bring along humor, respect and curiosity. Most of all, I am captured by the stories people share and use them to help clients understand their lives in greater detail and context. Together, we will explore your values and redefine your relationship with these stories in order to discover what possibilities exist beyond their limiting functions.
Education and training: I received my master's degree in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles in 2017. My past work experience includes: group private practice, adolescent day treatment, outpatient therapy and school-based support.
