About me

I work with adults facing a wide range of mental health challenges, including depression, trauma, life transitions, and adjusting to distressing situations.

I get to work with adults facing a variety of mental health and substance abuse challenges. I am dedicated to helping clients develop helpful thinking, better understand their emotions, and cultivate effective and enduring coping strategies for long-term wellness. I provide psychotherapy independently and am also a clinical supervisor for Advanced Practice Social Workers. My experience spans multiple levels of care, including outpatient therapy, partial hospitalization, and assertive community treatment/community support programs. My roles have included Co-Occurring Disorders Therapist, Counselor, Psychotherapist, Case Manager, and Consultant.

Ryan has a Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work with an emphasis in psychotherapy from the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee, where I earned a Graduate Certificate in Trauma-Informed Care. I received a $10,000 fellowship in graduate school for a youth oriented substance abuse and trauma counseling field placement. I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin–Stevens Point, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Sociology.

During my time at UWSP, I received the Distinguished Achievement Award from the College of Letters and Sciences. I studied victimology under a criminologist. For four semesters, I worked as an Undergraduate Research Assistant in the Social Development Lab. During my fifth semester, I got to be a project manager and secondary author for a study on college students and their biases about job importance due to worker's gender. During the summer, I co-presented this as a research poster at the American Psychlogical Association convention in Hawaii.

I specializes in treating clients who have experienced emotional trauma. My therapeutic approach is to help clients adapt to life’s challenges. I draw from several evidence-based modalities and remain committed to expanding his therapy techniques in order to best serve my clients.
