I am an experienced school psychologist who specializes in anxiety disorders, executive functioning, and learning disabilities.
Is your child struggling in school? Do they have difficulties with focus and motivation? Do they require additional time to complete assignments and turn in homework? Do they present with performance anxiety making it difficult for them to start and finish some assignments? Is their interest in school quickly diminishing without any hope? If so, I can help. Based on my years of experience as a school psychologist and special education teacher, I know where to start. First, it is important to figure out why they are struggling. Is it a performance deficit or skill deficit? This is essential in determining appropriate intervention.
Through the use of formal and informal assessment, I can determine your child's present cognitive, academic, and emotional functioning. These results are then used to drive intervention which is necessary for change and success. It is important to realize that children do not struggle intentionally. They are well aware of their deficits and need for support.
I have extensive experience and training in the areas of assessment, counseling, and intervention. I have worked in both school and virtual settings and I understand the academic and emotional demands children of all ages face, especially when they are lacking the necessary skills to excel. Bringing them up to speed requires both compassion and teaching.
