About me

NOW Accepting New Referrals! Are you feeling overwhelmed? Do you feel out of control and just floating through life? You are flooded by anxieties, sad and withdrawn, low motivation and depressed, or overwhelmed with changes in there life. Friends and family will often try to give you advice but it doesn't seem to help, or leaves you feeling worse. If you knew what was wrong and how to fix it you would have done it by now. You know in your head you are supported, but still feel inside of yourself like you are all alone. You need help, but are wondering if you are going to get the kind of help you specifically need.

Hi there! My name is Robert and I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Intern (LMHC). I studied at Oral Roberts University where I received my Masters of Counseling degree back in 2012. In my ten years of experience, I gathered a diverse set of skills working with adults, young adults, teenagers, and their families in an in-patient mental health hospital, a community psychiatric outpatient services for adults, an outpatient office, and most recently college campus at Florida Southwestern State College (FSW). I have provided individual person-centered counseling services to teens, young adults, and adults struggling with mental health issues and behavioral concerns I'm highly trained in working with people who are living with anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and relationship problems.

Theory of Counseling
I believe therapy can be used to meet individuals where they are and help them to challenge and change to become the best versions of themselves. I am a neurodiversity-affirming, culturally responsive, 2SLGBTQ+ affirming therapist that celebrates your full identity. I’m a life long learner who is always curious about the helpful techniques, people, ideas, and ways to accomplish our goals. I am confident in helping individuals develop efficient ways to communicate, implement appropriate skills for coping, foster healthy relationships, set appropriate boundaries, and increase self-awareness and self-esteem. I look to help my clients identify negative self-talk, catastrophic thoughts, and feelings of hopelessness. This often helps them reframe the pandemic and social inequalities as opportunities for personal growth and courage, as individuals explore ways to engage today’s problems together.

How I practice
Using a integrative approach helps to heal the whole person - not just the symptoms you experience. The presenting needs of the person help me to adapt the style and pace of therapy to meet there needs. I promote informed choice when it comes to treatment and collaborate with you in order to ensure all needs are being addressed and you make the best decisions for you. You will learn, practice, and be challenged to apply skills in your life to feel confident in meeting your goals for a better life. Feel free to email us or request an appointment with me about the rates for services. These skills can be developed in-person in our Fort Myers office or through HIPPA complaint telehealth therapy. Wherever we meet you will always have my undivided attention and commitment to helping you.
