I’m a Christian therapist who specializes in working with individuals suffering from trauma, anxiety, depression, and addiction. My approach is holistic, which considers not only the mind and body, but also the spirit, as a source of healing. I believe in strengthening, encouraging, and comforting others, which is why I became a therapist!
I am a board certified New York State Licensed Mental Health Counselor who specializes in the treatment of trauma, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, depression, grief & loss, and addiction. I received my M.A. in Mental Health Counseling from Fordham University and am a spiritually informed, Christian mental health counselor and psychotherapist. My additional training includes certification as a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and a Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse counselor (CASAC).
My clinical experience ranges from working both in inpatient and outpatient substance use settings, community mental health settings, and in private practice, with a broad range of clients suffering from various mental health disorders and acuity ranging from severely mentally ill to high functioning clientele. I utilize an eclectic style to treatment which gathers the best from evidence-based treatment modalities and approaches that will be tailored to your individual situation.
A session with me will include attentive listening, empathy, and encouraging feedback with a balance of humor. I am not a therapist that will look back at you with a blank stare and say a lot of “uh hums.” Instead, I believe that therapy only works when it is collaborative. I will listen to you without judgment and with compassion for your concerns, fears, and hopes, so that you can attain healing. I will also provide salient feedback and encouragement to help you to move forward in your treatment, with the overall goal of helping you become free from your current emotional pain and to find renewal and strength.
