About me
My name is Peggy Cook and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Licensed Substance Abuse Treatment Practitioner (LSATP) with over 25 years of experience. I have helped people with a wide range of concerns including stress, anxiety, depression, bi-polar disorder, unhealthy coping habits, divorce, relationship issues, alcohol and drug use concerns and finding purpose. My years of experience differentiate me and I am able to relate to concerns, challenges and pain that people experience using proven evidence based practices to help you reach your goals.
Sometimes life isn’t all we hoped it would be. I get it! We all need a little help or someone to bounce things off of. With over 25 years of experience, I specialize in helping people who are going through life’s challenges and need support. Sometimes it is depression, trauma, divorce, anxiety or stress. Sometimes it is our own unhealthy coping mechanisms such as binge eating or drinking, unhealthy relationships, anger or withdrawal. Regardless of your challenge, I am here for you and I have probably helped someone with the issue you are experiencing. You are not alone. My counseling style is warm and interactive. Our sessions will reflect a partnership where you discuss areas of your life where you have difficulties or want to see things be different. Together we identify desired changes and develop strategies to get you there. You are in the driver’s seat regarding your goals.
My approach is strength based and person centered. I use a cognitive-behavioral/solution focused approach and will tailor our treatment plan to address your unique needs and preferences. I believe that, with positive support from an experienced counselor, you can find answers to your own questions and develop your innate ability to grow. If you are experiencing challenges or difficulties in your life right now, your don’t have to go through them alone. It takes strength and wisdom to ask for help. Understanding and support is just a click away.
