About me
I am a MFT clinical intern at Amanda Atkins Counseling Group. I work with individuals, couples/dyads+, and families struggling with anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, communication, and life transitions. I enjoy working with men, people of all ages, LGBTQ+ individuals, couples, and families. In addition, I offer expertise in assisting healthcare professionals (including providers) who are facing organizational burnout. My therapeutic approach is trauma-informed, strength-based, and influenced by Bowen family systems theory, which regards the family as an emotional unit and utilizes systems thinking to analyze their intricate dynamics. Families are deeply emotionally interconnected. As a therapist, I aim to create a welcoming and secure environment for individuals of all races, genders, identities, and backgrounds.
Therapy should be a collaborative and positive process. Together, we will explore possibilities and author your stories full of hope and resilience. It's normal to feel overwhelmed, discouraged, angry, or confused throughout life. Managing these feelings can be isolating and lonely. Each of us possesses inner strengths; a therapeutic partnership can help us tap into these resources.
I enjoy using narrative therapy, which explores the stories we tell about ourselves and the stories that have been told over time by our families and broader communities. Problematic stories can marginalize our identities. I am passionate about helping clients re-author their life stories in a way that allows for change, empowerment, and self-agency. It would be a privilege to accompany you on your journey of reclaiming possibility. I aim to offer a therapeutic partnership in which clients feel safe, respected, and supported as my clients find their voices. We collaborate to embrace greater comfort, joy, and peace.
