About me
I am an experienced Mental Health Counselor with over 7 years experience working with teenagers and adults through life's most difficult times. I specialize in Trauma Counseling but have experience in working with people who have anxiety, depression, and anger.
I am a military veteran and love working with veterans and people from all walks of life. I have been providing therapy for over 7 years now and really love what I do especially in those moments where you can see that person is making progress with their goals. I am married with 3 children ranging from elementary school to high school. I specialize in Trauma focused therapy but I work with people who are dealing with issues related to anxiety, depression, family and life stressors, to anger management. I am focused on Christian Counseling with the emphasis of helping young people and adults navigate todays society with a focus on Christian teaching with the foundation of scientific research to support therapy. Not all of my clients want the Christian perspective and that is ok as I can leave the Christian Orientation out of our sessions and work strictly from a scientific viewpoint but many of my clients seek out my services because of my focus on Christian teachings. There is an emerging field of therapy that has a lot of research support called RCBT-D (Religiously-Integrated Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) which uses the perspective of the Christian Faith with the foundation of the traditional Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques. I am pretty straightforward in my approach to counseling as I believe people want help and the best way to help is to challenge those thoughts and beliefs in a supportive non-confrontational way. I look forward to working with you and helping you along your journey to becoming the person you were meant to be.
