About me

I am a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT-S) using play, art and sandtray work to carve out an inclusive space of safety and connection within which children and adolescents may authentically explore challenges with depressed mood, anxiety and self-esteem.

Patricia Lomando, LCSW, RPT-S, provides neurodivergent affirming and trauma informed services for the child, adolescent, and adult. Depression and anxiety are passions focused on throughout her career. Using expressive arts, play, CBT, and somatic approaches, she explores mood and prevention patterns, collaborates on coping strategies and helps identify those sometimes elusive gifts that are part of every neurotype. With expansive certifications in Registered Play Therapy and Infant Mental Health, she works through methodologies that bridge family gaps and help “translate” the child’s language through play, art and sand tray work.

Autism is a focus that Ms. Lomando has personal and professional ties to. She is a Certified Autplay Therapist and has extensive training in Floortime and Play Project. CBT, DBT and Solutions focused approaches are used with adults, children, parent groups and family sessions. All interventions are based in mutual respect and collaboration.

Ms. Lomando uses multiple virtual tools balanced with creative materials/toys on both ends of the screen to offer an optimal telehealth experience. All diagnoses and personalities are met from a stance of acceptance, support and client efficacy. Strengths are highlighted, various learning styles are appreciated, and homeschooling families are welcomed.
