About me
Working with couples and adult individuals (18+) is a meaningful and exciting process because even when life looks and feels dark and overwhelming, sparks of light and hope can emerge and a fresh awareness of different perspectives and once closed off possibilities is within reach. Therapy can be a catalyst that propels a couple or individual forward as they realize and manifest their own strengths and capacity for change and growth.
Partners often seek couples therapy to reconnect and figure out how they came to be stuck in patterns that do not serve them as individuals or as a couple. Frustration, anger, hurt, communication problems, sexual issues, parenting, family dynamics, and finding less joy and aliveness in their intimate relationship are just a few of the many stressors couples face. Each couple comes in with their unique complex of confusion, pain and challenges that touch most everyone’s lives. Couples psychotherapy helps partners learn fresh approaches to nurture their relationship that will bring them greater fulfillment and joy.
Adults, from young adulthood to later life struggle with a range of concerns, often about relationships, coping with anxiety and depression, and finding purpose and meaning at the different stages of their development. Psychotherapy offers a safe place and time to explore all of the above, and more. It is an opportunity to discover ways to live with greater compassion for self and others, explore new perspectives, narratives and different choices, living with a sense of wholeness and peace within ourselves and with the people who matter most to us. Psychotherapy is a sacred journey of cultivating a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
I help individuals, couples and families negotiate differences, clarify values and create a culture of kindness and possibility. My specializations include couples work, women's life transitions, infertility, perinatal mood & anxiety disorders, maternal well-being, intermarriage and parenting. People of all sexual orientations and gender identities welcomed.
I welcome couples and adult individuals of all ages to my collaborative, non-judgmental, humor and insight-oriented therapy practice. As a rabbi I offer spiritual, premarital, wedding and bereavement counseling and officiation of weddings, funerals and baby-namings. The wisdom gleaned from years of Buddhist studies and yoga practice informs my therapy work.
