I provide traditional and Christian Counseling for females, couples and families seeking help with everything ranging from trauma, grief, anxiety and depression to life transitions, relationships, personal growth and self-care.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate in the state of Texas, as well as a Certified Trauma Professional. I am under supervision of Beth M. Broom, a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor and a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Development and Family Studies in 2009, and a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2019, both from the University of North Texas.
Over the years, I have worked in fitness, higher education, and been a stay at home mom. I have counseled individuals, couples, families, and groups in academic, intensive outpatient, addiction, and Christian settings. I am married and have two sons. My husband and kids keep me busy, grateful, and growing. We love being involved at our church, drinking craft coffee, and eating good food. In my free time, I like to exercise, cook a veggie-loaded meal, or try a new flavor of ice cream! I also enjoy having a playdate with my kids, a deep conversation with a girl friend, a game night with some friends, or some quality time on a date night with my husband.
In my past, I have struggled with areas of my identity, substance abuse and relational dynamics. Because of my own past struggles, and how others helped me, I am genuinely motivated to help others. I am sure you have a unique story that brought you to where you are today, and I would love to hear it. No matter who you are, or what you have been through, your life matters. Change is possible. Things can get better. And, I am here to listen and support you. I believe you can discover healing, freedom and peace in this life.
I offer a caring and empathetic space to talk about what is going on in your life. I will spend a lot of time listening and providing a safe environment for you to process whatever is on your heart and mind. We will set goals based on your wants and needs, and I will educate and equip you with tools and resources to reach your goals. If you decide to take the next step and begin the counseling journey, it would be my honor and privilege to come along side you, and support you in the ways you need, so you can be your best for yourself and the people you love.
