About me
I believe that our therapeutic working relationship is the most important aspect of our work together. That being said, I believe in, and practice from, a relational perspective to address substance use and mental health concerns. I believe in an individualized approach to meeting my clients where they are and addressing the concerns they believe are most relevant, which will help them reach their full potential for happiness and personal growth. I am a cognitive guy who believes that many of the problems we face can be overcome by examining the way our beliefs influence our thoughts, which influence everything else. It often comes down to thinking about how you think.
Together we can face your trauma, depression, anxiety, or addictions, and learn new ways to overcome them. I enjoy working with our aging population, people experiencing psychosis, or personality disturbances. Additionally, I really like helping young people navigate family life and the transition into adulthood.
I have been in training to be a therapist for nearly my entire life. From my early and extensive personal struggles with addiction and mental illness to navigating the many social institutions that come along with those struggles, I have gained a unique perspective on the human experience. Whatever you are going through, we can get through it together.
