About me

While in the counseling field for 15 years, I have seen more than 3,000 children across all settings (K-12), working as a School Counselor and Trauma Therapist, Behavior Specialist, SEL Teacher, and Clinical Coordinator.

Dr. Natalie Serafini is originally from the central Pennsylvania area. She obtained her undergraduate degree in Psychology from Lock Haven University, and her M.Ed. in Counselor Education from the Pennsylvania State University, as well as national certification in counseling (NCC) and is certified as a clinical trauma professional (CCTP). In August 2021, Dr. Serafini completed her doctoral degree in Educational Leadership and Management from Capella University. Her research includes Implementing Trauma-Informed Professional Development to K-12 Educators and Mental Health Supports within Online Educational Programs. She has participated in additional training programs for Positive Behavior Interventions & Supports (PBIS), Classroom180, Trauma-Informed Care, and Interconnected Systems Framework (ISF); and has been a Presenter on several of these topics at both the state and national levels.

Dr. Serafini is currently employed as a full-time Trauma Therapist for Loyalsock Township School District, so is unavailable for appointments during school hours. She is very familiar with trauma work, and can help to provide some direction for both individuals and families struggling with traumatic experiences. Dr. Serafini's early work focused on behavioral interventions for young children and working with children diagnosed with Autism. Dr. Serafini specializes in understanding educational and school-based interventions that will help children to achieve success in school, as well as assisting families in advocating for the services their children need.

Outside of her professional career, Dr. Serafini loves spending time with family, coaching travel soccer, and serving on various professional boards within her community. She has a supportive fiance, is a mom to 4 children (2 biological and 2 step), and understands what it means to be a Modern Family!
