Something I believe we all have in common is the need to be known by others. In order to achieve this, we must take the scary step of allowing ourselves to be seen. I understand this can feel like an intimidating experience for clients. With that in mind, my goal is to create a safe place for clients to show up as they are. My belief is that positive changes can begin to take place once a person truly feels seen, heard, and valued. With a safe space & strong rapport, my hope is that clients will feel safe and empowered to do the vulnerable work that is necessary to achieve their goals.

It is easy to become stuck choosing comfort over change. Breaking this cycle can feel overwhelming and uncomfortable. It requires a person to walk away from familiarity to vulnerability. I work collaboratively with clients to explore changes they want to create so that they feel more confident in themselves and their ability to overcome future obstacles.

Lastly, I find it’s so necessary to celebrate achievements throughout counseling. Therapy involves hard work and with it comes times for celebration. Slowing down and celebrating in the moment with clients is such an important part of the process and one that can assist in future positive changes.
