About me
I love the art and the science of therapy. I provide clients with practical tools for overcoming anxiety, fear, addictive patterns, discontentment and self limiting beliefs. Using evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), EMDR, and Mindfulness, I custom tailor my approach to each client I work with.
As someone who spent years struggling with an anxiety disorder, I tried everything under the sun to improve my mental health. Once I figured out what worked and what didn't I decided I needed to help others do the same. I became a therapist in 2014, and in 2019 I opened my own group practice in Asheville, NC and we now have 4 therapists all working hard to empower clients to overcome the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that are keeping them from thriving in life.
I am a member of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy, the only official certifying board for Cognitive Behavioral Therapists around the world, and I have trained extensively in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Based Therapies, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), EMDR, and Buddhist Psychology, among other things. My approach is down to earth, highly supportive and empathetic, and structured. I firmly believe that talking about things only gets you so far- I like to empower my clients with a diverse set of tools to cope with difficulties and make the changes necessary to live a rich and meaningful life. A New Yorker at heart, I like to be efficient and get the work done while being your unrelenting cheerleader along the way. I believe in the power of therapy and I believe in the human potential for happiness and fulfillment.
