Verified clinicians have had their licenses confirmed by our staff at the time they create their profile. We also require all verified therapists keep their licensing information up to date in order to maintain verified status.
This therapist holds one or more specialty certifications, you can review their certification within the professional certifications section on their profile.
Send your prospective therapist a brief message about why you’re seeking support, your preference for in-person or telehealth services, and how you’d like to be contacted moving forward. Note: Answers to many common questions can be found on the therapist’s profile page. If this is an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest hospital.
I'm a licensed, board-certified therapist who has been practicing counseling for over 50 years. I've been specially trained to deal with adolescents, and that has been the focus of my counseling all this time.
I suppose I should tell you a few facts about myself, as seems to be customary on websites like this. Academically I have a Bachelor's degree (B.A.) in Philosophy. I also have two Masters Degrees–an M.A. in Counseling, and a M.Div. (Master of Divinity) in Theology. I have a Specialist Degree (Ed.S.) in Counselor Education. I also hold a Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Psychology, specializing in problems of adolescence. I am a licensed and board-certified sexual therapist and educator. I am also a diplomate and clinical supervisor of the American Board of Sexology as well as a clinical fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Sexologists. I am certified by A.A.S.E.C.T. (the American Association of Sex Educators Counselors and Therapists) and am a clinical member of A.A.M.F.T. (The American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy). I am also certified to practice parent/child and divorce mediation by the ACR (The Association for Conflict Resolution). In 1998 I was board-certified by the National Board of Forensic Professionals to practice Forensic Psychology and Profiling. I have also been a charter clinical member of the American Association of Christian Counselors since its inception. In 1999, I was certified by N.A.I.S. (The National Association of Investigative Specialists) as an investigator in the forensic sciences. In 2002, I was board certified by the same organization as an expert in psychological profiling. In 1999 I was made a Diplomate of the APA (American Psychotherapy Association), and in 2007 I was named a Fellow of the APA. In 2008 I became a professional member of both the NBCC (National Board of Certified Counselors) and the ACA (American Counseling Association). I am a licensed doctor in the mental health professions in both Kansas (# 1953) and Missouri (# 2009000972). In 2020 I became a Cerfified CMHT (Clinical TeleMental Health Provider). Some of the difficulties of adolescence I deal with are suicide concerns, gender identity, depression, anxiety, parental problems, school problems and general teen concerns.
I am also a Roman Catholic Priest belonging to a community of priests and brothers called the Congregation of the Mission of St. Vincent DePaul (Vincentian Fathers and Brothers). I'm a public speaker, author, and have hosted my own radio talk show in Chicago. I speak regularly at youth, professional and parents' organizations. I am also a frequent speaker at elementary, high school and college assemblies. I'm an accomplished pop and blues piano player, playing publicly whenever time and opportunity permit. I am also a pilot. I currently live and have my office in St. Louis, MO.
