One word. Relationship. Specifically ours. Yours and mine. Healing happens when you are seen, heard, and felt by another human being.
One word. Trauma. What is trauma? So many answers. Natural disasters, community violence, family violence, medical trauma, emotional abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, divorce, death, illness, accidents, the list goes on. Global Pandemic? Definitely. What happens when we experience a trauma and we don’t get treated? Again, so many answers: depression, anxiety, insomnia, self-medicating, hopelessness, low motivation, hypervigilance, avoidance, nightmares, low self-esteem, over-eating, under-eating, ruminating. You get the idea. Perhaps it’s time you got your trauma treated?
As a trauma-informed clinician, I will approach our work with empathy, non-judgement and collaboration. I am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) an empirically supported treatment for trauma. I have also completed the Our House Grief Intensive. Call or email me today to schedule a consultation so we have the opportunity to explore together if we are a strong fit.
