About me
I work with adolescence that are struggling with depression, suicidal ideation, anxiety, social, anxiety, peer issues, as well as family problems. I also specialize with perinatal clients in this area. I work with everything from anxiety to pregnancy loss, postpartum depression, infertility issues. As well as fathers with perinatal issues.
My practice works to help the client from a person centered perspective. I work with the client as a whole looking at housing, work/home balance, finances, health, all of these things, impact a persons well-being. It’s difficult to help a person suffering from depression when they are one paycheck away from being homeless. I work with them to find resources in the community to solve those issues also. When I am working with kids and adolescents. I work very closely with them and their parents. Mental health issues do not happen in a vacuum. I find that it helps to really have the parents involved with their therapy. This can be done with having monthly parenting sessions with the child, or even separate counseling sessions with the parents alone. Perinatal clients are an underserved population in mental health today. Many Perinatal clients have undiagnosed mental health issues that impact their baby. A woman suffering from severe anxiety or postpartum depression can deliver prematurely, have low, birthweight babies, have substance-abuse issues, have babies with issues at birth due to poor prenatal care. When you become a client at Coastal waters counseling services, you become part of our family.
