As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Doctor of Social Work, I bring to my private practice over 20 years of experience in various social work settings. Formerly a military spouse, I've had the pleasure of living in various countries and states before returning home to New Jersey, where I have joyfully planted roots.
With a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from University of Maryland, European Division, I worked as the Director of Social Services in Washington State long term care and sub-acute rehabilitation facilities before returning to school to earn a Master of Social Work and Certificate of Aging Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University.
While pursuing my license as a Clinical Social Worker, I acted as a Care Coordinator at Hackensack Meridian Health Riverview Medical Center. Soon after completing my LCSW, I had the privilege of offering psychotherapy to palliative care patients and their support system as part of an interdisciplinary team through Hackensack Meridian Health Center for Integrated Palliative Medicine. I also received a certificate in Clinical Supervision enabling me to mentor social workers pursuing their LCSW. I graduated with a Doctorate in Social Work from Rutgers University June of 2021. I employ a Strengths-Based therapeutic approach combining Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Meaning-Centered psychotherapy, and Dignity Therapy with the goal to meet clients where they are and to assist them in developing strategies as they define goals, work through challenges, and find their best selves.
