About me
Do you ask yourself, am I the problem or are they the problem? Do you feel you are labeled by others and it’s not correct? Do you feel sad, but think you should be happy? It’s ok, we all have moments in our lives when we feel we are not ourselves or struggling. However, this does not need to be the norm. You deserve to be happy and the person you want to be. Therapy is that opportunity to express your thoughts in a safe, trusted environment to be heard. The first step in therapy is to make an appointment and start your journey of empowerment to be the person you want to be.
Who am I? I am a bi-lingual licensed clinical social worker and have been practicing for over 20 years. I was born and raised in New York City and moved to New Jersey and married to a large Italian family. My parents were from Peru and immigrated to the US in the 1970s. I speak English, Spanish and Spanglish. While working as a counselor in a high school, mental health clinics in NY and NJ and Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for the USPS in New York City, I have dealt with a diverse clientele and various issues (Trauma, Anxiety, Depressions, Relationships and Family Issues). In addition, I understand firsthand the challenges of being a first-generation child and within a multi-cultural family and relationships; acclimating the old world culture with the new world ideals.
Therapy is a conversation, but with active listening and without judgement. I am your coach, who is straight forward, dedicated and invested in the journey to the new you. We are always evolving, learning, gaining new experiences, you have the strengthen within you to resolve issues and empower yourself. I will tailor my approach to your individual needs and situation to help you explore the root of your pain through several techniques (CBT, DBT and Trauma Stress focused). Please call me, when you are ready to start your journey of empowerment.
