About me
Dr. Killmeyer is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Florida (MT 2678) with 15 years experience working in community agencies, private practice, patient advocacy, nonprofit organizations, and in educational settings. She works with children, teens, and adults coping with issues such as depression, anxiety, goal setting, marriage conflict, parenting, academic success skills, stress management and relaxation, mental strength and sports performance, as well as life transitions during and after acute and chronic illnesses. As an AAMFT Approved Supervisor, she works directly with Registered Marriage and Family Therapists to consult on cases. Dr. Killmeyer also provides consultations to organizations to promote and enhance communication strategies and employee strengthening practices.
Dr. Killmeyer offers a range of services and therapeutic approaches to provide a personalized and individualized experience for every client. Her philosophy in working with clients takes a varied approach based on your needs and concerns. However, treatment is intended to be brief and solution-oriented. During your initial sessions Dr. Killmeyer will work with you to understand the problem, develop goals, and identify steps to take toward reaching those goals. The remainder of the sessions will focus on finding the resources that lend to your success, managing the obstacles that are presented, and assessing your success and evaluating outcomes. Dr. Killmeyer appreciates the opportunity to help clients by empowering them to enhance their natural skills and abilities to overcome life’s circumstances through positive, solution-oriented conversation. She believes that through the therapeutic relationship, we can better understand and improve our relationships with others and ourselves.
