I am a therapist helping individuals and couples for over 20 years in the Maryland & Virginia suburbs outside of Washington, DC.

When working with couples I have been trained in the Imago and Developmental Models of Couples therapy adding a richness and depth to the sessions. I am able to help couples in long term relationships understand the predictable stages they will go through, along with teaching communication skills. The Imago model helps couples see their committed relationship as a mechanism to learn more about one's self, one's partner and where each needs to grow in order to live a more full and vibrant life as individuals and as a couple. Often the very challenges that bring you in for couples therapy turn out to be one of the greatest gifts and strengths to the relationship.
For couples just entering into a long term commitment such as an engagement, moving in together, having a baby, or newly married I offer a 3 hour intensive which teaches skills that will help you to navigate challenges to the relationship as they emerge. For couples getting married this can often meet church requirements for premarital counseling.
When working with individuals I approach clients from a holistic stand point exploring mind, body and spirit aspects of the issue. Sometimes current day challenges have a theme which dates back to childhood and we will explore those connections as well as we create a plan for healing. Therapy may include EMDR, mindfulness, Gestalt therapy, Trans personal Psychology, CBT along with other techniques.
I am working completely virtually and clients are finding this to be convenient, more flexible and just as effective. My style has been describe by some as compassionate, interactive, flexible, gentle and forward moving. I continue to love the work that I do as over 20 years later, I continue to learn and grow in my continue professional development and my own inner reflective work.
