Maria is a Bilingual Mental Health Counselor who enjoys working with a variety of clients of all ages and is dedicated to working with my clients overcoming whatever they are facing.
Virginia Satir said it best "As a therapist I try to be a companion and help people tune into their own wisdom". I strive to be that person for my client in their life that is capable of hearing and holding their pain. I have experience working with infants, children, adolescent, adults, couples and families. My goal is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for my clients where together we can work collaboratively to reach their goals. Maria enjoys working with children, families, couples, trauma survivors, LGBTQ+ community, addiction and recovery.
Her focus includes working with children and individuals that experience a variety of difficulties like depression, mood disorders, self-esteem and grief and loss as well as PTSD/Trauma, autism, anxiety as well as relationship and behavioral issues, parenting skills and developmental concerns and eating disorders.
Maria takes an eclectic strength-based approach to counseling. Treatment is tailored for each individual's needs. Treatment is provided from an integrative approach that includes cognitive behavioral therapy and techniques, Rational emotive behavioral therapy, psychodynamic, motivational therapy as well as other proven therapeutic methods.
