Marcus is an experienced individual, couples' and family therapist specializing in relationship problems, grief/loss, anxiety/depression, breakups, and spiritual concerns.
Marcus is a Licensed Master Social Worker with several years of experience working with individuals, couples, and families in both community mental health and private practice settings. Marcus works integratively, blending various therapeutic modalities to support clients in addressing their unique needs. He is formally trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy, an attachment-based model, designed to help clients explore and excavate the root emotions, needs, fears and vulnerabilities underlying the unsatisfactory behavioral patterns they find themselves stuck in. Marcus facilitates an experience where clients learn how to change the emotional music that accompanies the dance between self and other(s)– creating deep and lasting change.
Marcus is a native of Boston, Massachusetts and relocated to Atlanta, Georgia in 2012 to attend The Interdenominational Theological Center where he studied Psychology of Religion. After spending several years working as a spiritual care provider in the field of healthcare, Marcus decided to expand his repertoire of skills and knowledge by attending Smith College School for Social Work where he received his Master of Social Work degree, concentrating in clinical social work practice. Since then, Marcus has specialized in working primarily with couples and families with a wide range of life concerns and challenges.
Marcus believes in every client’s capacity for growth and healing and understands that healing happens in the context of a safe, authentic, non-judgmental space where clients can get to the heart of what is keeping them stuck in their life and relationship(s).
