My name is Maddisen Espeseth and I am a licensed psychologist located in Anaheim Hills, California. I hold a doctorate degree in clinical psychology, and provide psychotherapeutic services to toddlers, children, adolescents, young adults, and parents.
Historically, the majority of my clients have sought treatment due to significant trauma, most prominently and poignantly in the realm of parent-child attachment-related wounding. My subspecialties include trauma, parent-child bonding issues, obsessive-compulsive behavior, depressive mood, existentialism, and dissociative self-states and processes (such as depersonalization and derealization).
My treatment approach is informed by attachment theory, Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics, Internal Family Systems, Jungian psychology, and relational psychoanalytic theory. I strongly value the use of play therapy and nonverbal modalities such as Sandplay (given that I am a Registered Sandplay Practitioner), expressive arts, and sensorimotor interventions.
