Mackenzie Howshar, LMFT
Verified clinicians have had their licenses confirmed by our staff at the time they create their profile. We also require all verified therapists keep their licensing information up to date in order to maintain verified status.
This therapist holds one or more specialty certifications, you can review their certification within the professional certifications section on their profile.
I conduct individual, couples, family and animal-assisted therapy to help you heal within yourself and in your relationships.
First and foremost, I am a human who stumbles over her words and feet, and I encourage all of my clients to show up in their most authentic ways too. Working through past trauma, depression, anxiety, self-esteem issues, relational distress, boundary-setting, or an overbearing inner critic is much easier with a friendly and loving dog around. Animals love unconditionally and accept you for who you are. In both person-centered and animal-assisted therapy, I facilitate safety, relationship-building, teamwork, confidence, self-awareness, mindfulness, and playfulness. Our work will be informed by the Psychobiological Approach to Couples Therapy (PACT – Level 1), the Gottman Method (Level 2), family systems theory, parts work, and trauma-informed approaches. Together, we can deepen your understanding, exploration, and acceptance of your self, your partner, and your relationships. I am honored to support you, and I look forward to knowing you along this journey.
