MacKenzie Bradke, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker
St Charles, MO|
Online & In person
HI! My name is MacKenzie. I offer therapy to overwhelmed Moms who deal with issues of perfectionism, stress and overwhelm and grief and loss. I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in St. Charles offering EMDR and Mindfulness Based Cogntive Therapy. I also work with young adults and men.
I'm pretty laid back as a therapist. I wear jeans to work. I cuss in sessions and encourage you to do so if you feel moved to. My clients describe me as real. I have a dry sense of humor. I love working with people. I'm a mom and wife. I love to over-deliver for my clients. What does that mean? If you have a favorite drink you like, please let me know and I'll stock it in my complimentary beverage station. If I have candy out, it's there for you. I want my clients to be comfortable when they come into my office. This has to be a peaceful and comfortable space for you to come lay it all out. This shit is real. I offer in-person and telehealth and a hybrid of both, because, you know, life happens. I have been vaccinated and boosted for your safety as well as mine. I offer a secure Client Portal that is yours and only yours so that you ca manage your sessions from the convenience of your phone. I keep a smaller caseload so I don't get burned out. That just creates stress for me and then I'm not bringing you my best skills and no one wants that.
I enjoy working with clients who are aware that there is no quick fix to their situation. It took time to get to this point and it's going to take time to get to the other side. My clients do best when they come to sessions knowing I'm not going to give them all of the answers. I offer gentle nudges at times, but this work has to be yours. I'm here to support you throughout the process.
A lot of my clients come to me asking the question "Who the F am I?" I enjoy helping anyone wondering the answer to this question find the answers. Whether that is an overwhelmed Mom, a college student/young professional, or a guy, finding the answer to this question sets the tone for the rest of your life. It's an important question to find the answers to. While overwhelmed moms are my main focus, these other groups of people are also fulfilling to work with. Anyone who is dealing with anxiety and depression which is causing distress in their life is welcome.
I offer Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy to help my clients learn to manage the things that are going on around them, but to also be present right now. Society is very focused on instant gratification and the next thing that we forget to enjoy right here, right now. That can create such presence in relationships and for ourselves. I also offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help my clients process past traumatic experiences and stressors. Often a client will tell me they haven't experienced trauma. We think of trauma as big traumatic events, and while that is true, there are also a ton of smaller events that happen in our lives that create stress. Those stay with us and create ways in which we look at the world for the rest of our lives. When we are able to reprocess those and get rid of negative ways of thinking about ourselves we can move forward in life and in relationships and find healing. It's amazing and I enjoy seeing the progress my clients make because of it.
