I am a Clinical Psychologist with 35 years experience, currently licensed in Michigan and Georgia. I enjoy doing therapy, both in-person and virtually with adults from all backgrounds. If you want to explore their life issues with an experienced and compassionate therapist, please contact me. My approach is based on individual clients needs, using eclectic principles that include Cognitive Behavior Therapy and a humanistic, empathic and strength based approach.

In 1979, I completed my doctorate degree in Clinical Psychology at Michigan State University, and went on to enjoyed practicing psychology in Michigan for 30 years. My career has allowed me to do psychotherapy with adults, children and families in a wide range of settings including community mental health centers and private practice groups. From 1989-98, I was an Associate Professor of Psychology at Olivet College, and enjoyed supervising interns and offering vocational counseling to students interested in mental health careers.
Having a personal history growing up in a military family, I have developed a clinical specialty working with Veterans and related family members. As a newly certified VA Community Care provider, I welcome the opportunity to provide Veterans a compassionate and knowledgeable review of their disability rating, and make recommendations for strengthening the effectiveness of current treatment programs.
Recently, my psychological evaluations have been based on a model of Therapeutic Assessments, using a collaborative approach with clients to identify and understand problem areas, and to facilitate setting goals for personal growth and problem resolution. My skills as a therapist include providing solution oriented therapy to motivated clients, drawing on relevant spiritual beliefs or practices of each client. Given my own background growing up in diverse cultures, I always approach therapy with openness to new ideas without judgmental views, to help facilitate individual growth and improve overall functioning in life.
