About me

I am a counselor and play therapist in Loveland, CO. I work with children, teens, families, and individual women to provide support for all the stages of life. Whether your child is struggling with anger, anxiety, or grief OR you as a parent are in a stage of depression, anxiety, or personal struggle, I am here to support you and your family through this season so you may find peace again.

One of the most significant factors in therapeutic progress is the relationship a client has with his or her counselor. It is important that you feel like you trust your counselor and will be both supported and challenged through this difficult season of your life.

I have not walked in your shoes, but my life experience has taught me that pain cannot be compared. Life is hard and it comes with no guarantees. We are not meant to walk these hard roads alone and healing comes through relationship. Many of our hurts and heartaches have started with relationship and it is through relationship that we find new beginnings.

When working with adults, I use an integrative person-centered approach and recognize that counseling is not a one-size-fits-all system. The counseling that works for your sister may not be the therapy that works for you. We will explore that together. My work is to stand by your side in the pit—to help you see a part of yourself that you may not yet see. We are not meant to walk through suffering alone and together, we will uncover the capacity for healing that God has already placed within you.

When working with children, I integrate child-centered play therapy with interpersonal neurobiology. My approach to therapy with young children involves a two-pronged approach of giving your child a safe, developmentally appropriate environment to process their feelings and experiences AND working with you, the caregiver, to respond effectively to big behaviors and create an environment of emotional and relational safety. For the young, and the young at heart, I see healing through creative expression and play. When we cannot find the words to express our pain, our heart and creative brain find a way beyond words. Each stage of childhood and adolescence presents unique developmental needs and challenges. To best meet these needs, I use play therapy, sandtray therapy, and art to help children and teens work through social, emotional, and developmental issues so they may uncover the capacity for healing already within them.

I specialize in counseling children, teens, and families who are experiencing emotional, relational, and behavioral challenges. I have unique, youth-focused experience working with children who struggle with anxiety, depression, fear, self-esteem, family separation, and behavioral issues. I believe it is important to honor your family's values, experience, and the internal experience of you and your child in order to help him/her work through difficult life stages, develop positive coping strategies, and restore harmony in your family.

When a child or family member struggles, the whole family suffers. There is hope and healing for your family. I would be honored walk to alongside you and your child in a difficult season. I am currently scheduling in-person sessions and available for a 15 minute consultation to answer any questions you may have.
