About me
I am an experienced psychotherapist specializing in the treatment of anxiety, PTSD, depression and any trauma related issue.
I view mental wellness as a balancing of mind, body and spirit. When one or more of these areas are at deficit, we experience a variety of symptoms trying to alert us to connect to ourselves. The problem often is that people don't know how to do so. We talk to others, we vent, we cry, yet over and over we bump up against the same triggers, the same issues. Even if we change the scene, the story stays the same. Why is that?
I've had many people come in and discuss the issues they want to resolve. Only to hear another issue come up, much to a client's surprise. "I thought I dealt with that!" they say. What a lot of people are unaware of, is that we process our issues in many ways that have nothing to do with talking. And while talking may help you to feel better for awhile, it doesn't shift things internally, or help you to feel different permanently. That's because in order to fully heal, the body also has to be included in that healing dialogue.
I use a combination of therapies to give people tools they can use throughout their lives. And solutions to their current day issues that resolve much more deeply than talk therapy. If you've been to therapy before and found that it helped some, but you need a bit more "something" because you're not where you want to be, let's talk!
I utilize Internal Family Systems, Ego State, EMDR and Somatic processing which combines talk and body therapies.
