I believe our natural state is joy and that the effects of racism, misogyny, white supremacy, homophobia, abuse, and all other forms of cultural and familial trauma, present obstacles that can be mitigated with work and support.

My passion is supporting clients in their efforts to reach greater levels of satisfaction and success, and to assist them in resolving current or past trauma. I believe everyone has value, wisdom, and strength and can benefit from therapy during times of stress or periods of reflection and growth and I actively work to reduce the barriers and stigma associated with therapy. Our world and our lives present many obstacles to happiness and fulfillment and, with effort and knowledgeable support, these can be resolved or reduced to more manageable levels. I have been in individual practice for nearly thirty years and am a board certified diplomate. My specialties include depression, anxiety, pregnancy issues, post partum depression, parenting challenges, relationships, acute and chronic illness, co-dependency, nutritional support, LGBTQ+ support, STE/NDE integration, issues of life stages and aging, including providing community resource information. My practice is diverse and inclusive. I use modalities tailored to the client which include DBT and CBT skills, trauma-focused therapy, addiction-focused counseling, ACT and adjustment therapy, coaching, bibliotherapy, feminist theory, mindfulness & meditation skills, and others. This means that I may suggest more than one approach or may incorporate more than one modality at a time; this is part of the process we will discover in our work together. I am committed to providing mental health support to all and for that reason, I participate with insurance, and EAPs. I strive to be flexible in scheduling in recognition of the many demands individuals and families face in today’s world. Clients who are least likely to succeed are those who expect the therapist to fix what’s wrong in their lives without requiring them to try anything different. My most successful clients are those who take an active role in their therapy, recognizing that nothing changes if nothing changes. Change is uncomfortable and most of us resist it in some form. Clients who are ready for change have taken the first and hardest step; in reaching out, they have already decided they want more from life than they are currently experiencing and are ready to take action. Each new client presents me with an exciting opportunity to make a difference and I welcome the chance to partner with you on this journey.
