About me
I am an LMHC and an art therapist. I have experience in working with adults and adolescents struggling with PTSD, anxiety, depression, ADHD, and autism.
As a military spouse, I have both witnessed and experienced significant mental health struggles and the difficulty in finding help and providers who understand. I have dedicated myself to providing compassionate care to those struggling with PTSD, anxiety, depression, to feel heard and understood, and the struggles that can accompany neurodiversity.
There is no one-size-fits-all when it comes to therapy. As such, I work with each individual client to help tailor their experience and treatment to their needs and preferences. I am a certified art therapist, licensed mental health counselor, and am certified in the EAGALA model of equine therapy. In the initial session with a client, we will discuss the benefits of different therapies and which might be the best fit for them. From there, sessions may look considerably different for each client. I often start sessions by asking what is needed from therapy that day. There may be days that a client has a lot to talk about and needs to process, or a day when they have a lot of feelings, but no words. On those days, many find it helpful to use the time and space to create art in order to express those things that are difficult to put into words. For those utilizing equine therapy, each session is going to be focused on what the client is bringing in for that session.
In sessions, I often pull from several therapeutic modalities in order to adjust to the needs of the client. I primarily utilize a person-centered approach, but mix in CBT, DBT, IFS, MI, and pieces of other modalities in order to best fit the needs and preferences of the client.
Whatever your needs, I am here to listen and provide support tailored to your specific needs and preferences.
