Verified clinicians have had their licenses confirmed by our staff at the time they create their profile. We also require all verified therapists keep their licensing information up to date in order to maintain verified status.
I am currently a pre-licensed therapist and doctoral student in Counseling Psychology in New York City. My practice is primarily dedicated to working with emerging adults through Generation X, helping individuals to manage life transitions (e.g. into college, out of college, career establishment, major moves), establish and maintain healthy relationships, and seek relief from anxiety.
I am a former international school educator who has lived in several countries, including India, England, France, and Belgium. I have extensive experience working with people with a wide range of identities from a variety of different backgrounds and cultures. I am a strong proponent of and believer in person-centered, compassion-focused therapy. Above all, the therapeutic space is one that is a safe environment, one that was designed especially for your needs. This is a place where you can freely discuss the issues that are causing you pain and discomfort—yet you will never be pushed to share something before you are ready. In therapy, we will talk about the thoughts and/or behaviors and circumstances that are causing you pain, and identify the source of that pain. We will examine the purpose of the thoughts and behaviors you have in response to triggering events, and together, help you work on adopting and maintaining healthier responses. We can practice calming techniques that can be useful in your daily life and in situations when you are outside of the therapeutic space. Where applicable, we can also explore any clear and tangible solutions to some of the challenges you face.
I believe that believe that the bedrock for change lies in establishing a strong therapeutic relationship. From there, trust, openness, and the willingness to be vulnerable is able to emerge. I was drawn to become a therapist as a result of my own experiences in therapy, along with some of the mental health concerns I saw some of my students and counselees struggle with. Being able to get relief and live an overall positive and healthy life should be available to all who desire it.
