About me
I am an experienced Art Therapist and Mental Health Counselor who is dedicated to working with adolescents and young adults as they learn to cope with the many challenges of anxiety, depression and trauma related issues.
I am a Board Certified Art Therapist and Licensed Creative Arts Therapist in Boonton, New Jersey.
I’m the proud owner of the Art in Therapy, LLC practice which I founded in 2015.
In 2022, The Art in Therapy expanded and is now a group practice. Patients have the opportunity to work with the clinical team including Music Therapy, Movement Therapy and a Nutritional Health Coach.
I specialize in working with Generation Z and Millennials! For those not familiar with the generations’ catchphrases they are used to title today’s Tweens, Teens, and Young Adults. I’m passionate about the adolescent stage of development and what makes these young people tick. I’m curious specifically about those two generations, how they differ and are similar to generations that came before them.
I received my Masters of Arts in Art Therapy from New York University. I interned with a variety of populations in the New York metropolitan area and internationally in the United Kingdom and Tanzania.
I continued my professional work with culturally diverse populations in a multitude of therapeutic settings, which have included domestic violence shelters, inner-city schools, New York City Preventive Family Services, and Inpatient Psychiatric hospitals. I have a strong clinical background and expansive knowledge in psychotherapeutic counseling. I have an acute understanding of factors influencing human responses and behaviors which has allowed me to approach my clients with empathy and compassion. I am a strong believer in the importance of professional development and continue to expand on my practice knowledge through post-graduate studies in trauma and resilience.
Most recently, I was the keynote presenter, Parenting Generation Z, Part I, and Part II: How do we communicate with our adolescents in a media-driven world? ACAP (Academy of Clinical and Applied Psychoanalysis).
I provide Clinical Supervision to Art Therapists working in the field as well as graduate Art Therapy students as an off-site supervisor.
I am also a member of the American Art Therapy Associate (AATA) and the New Jersey Art Therapy Association (NJATA).
