KIM PINKSTON, Clinical Director
Verified clinicians have had their licenses confirmed by our staff at the time they create their profile. We also require all verified therapists keep their licensing information up to date in order to maintain verified status.
Send your prospective therapist a brief message about why you’re seeking support, your preference for in-person or telehealth services, and how you’d like to be contacted moving forward. Note: Answers to many common questions can be found on the therapist’s profile page. If this is an emergency, please call 911 or go to your nearest hospital.
I am a licensed counselor who specializes in helping those suffer from addictions find their path to recovery.
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist, with 25 years of experience working in the field of addictions. I specialize in working with adults with substance use and co-occurring disorders, such as anxiety and depression. I have experience will all levels of treatment from detox to outpatient, including clients on medicated assisted treatment (MAT-Suboxone and Sublocade). My current practice focuses on working with MAT, Intensive Outpatient Substance Use, and Traditional Outpatient Substance Use services. The program offers virtual and in person individual counseling as well as virtual and in-person group counseling.
My approach is client centered, meaning I am going to work with you in developing your goals and support you in reaching those goals. My number one concern is your safety and well being as you enter into a life of lasting recovery from substance use. I recognize that traditional counseling does not appeal to everyone. With my education and training in movement therapy and movement analysis I have the ability to work with you non-traditionally, often incorporating art, music, dance, yoga, mindfulness, and other expressive approaches. Traditionally I follow an approach that focuses on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, exploring how our thoughts, feelings, and perceptions of the world around us drive our behaviors. Many who work in the addictions field support 12-Step programs. While 12-step has proven to be successful in obtaining lasting recovery I believe that is not the only way to achieve lasting recovery. My approach focuses on your values and beliefs and what will work for you. Everyone is individual and I will treat you as such.
