Hi there! I'm Kenny. I am a therapist who helps people work through faith transitions and other spiritual challenges, anxiety, stress and trauma, and relationship stressors.

Maybe you've been noticing:
– a sense of anchorlessness as you sort through a shift in beliefs and values
– it's difficult to talk to family members about changes in your belief system, identity, or other aspects of life
– you're feeling sad and overwhelmed, unsure of how to move forward

I am a licensed marriage and family therapist who helps people learn to regain a sense of their own inner wisdom as they navigate these, and other, challenges. We'll work together to create a space where you can sift through all of your questions, thoughts, and feelings without the pressure to move in any specific direction with them. You don't need to carry all of this alone!

I know first-hand the tremendous challenges that can come as we make changes in our lives! Change can be scary and painful, even if it's a positive change. People might judge or criticize us (who am I kidding – we might judge and criticize ourselves!). But I also know first-hand the incredible sense of freedom, growth, and renewal that can come as we embrace our true selves and discover our authentic voices. This is my passion – to help you re-discover and live life according to your highest values.

Fundamental to my therapy approach is a belief in the strengths and wisdom that you bring with you to the therapy room (virtual therapy room, that is!). I'm not here to tell you what directions are best for your life, but to support you as you uncover those answers within yourself. I've found that through compassionate and mindful exploration most difficult feelings and inner-experiences make sense, especially when looked at in the context of your life!

In our work together, I typically weave in a number of approaches (depending on your goals, preferences, and needs). My work is most influenced by the following therapeutic frameworks:
– Person-centered therapy (an emphasis on collaboration, relationship, and empowerment)
– Cognitive-behavioral therapy (an interest in the relationship between inner-beliefs, thoughts and feelings)
– Sensorimotor Psychotherapy/somatic therapy (recognizing and working with the resources and wisdom of the body in healing)
– Strengths-oriented approach (there is nothing wrong with you! Let's explore, honor, and build off of the resources that you bring with you)
– Family systems (our relationships and context are important to consider in the therapy process)
– Trauma-informed (our minds and bodies develop natural defensive responses to protect against painful experiences, which can be explored in a collaborative and structured way – if and when it feels safe and right to do so)

If you have any questions or want to discuss working together, let's talk! Feel free to reach out and we'll start with an initial phone consultation to see if we might be a good fit for working together.
