About me
My name is Kelly Clarke and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Texas. I have a passion for working with teenagers and adults to assist them in creating healthy and beautiful lives. I have experience working with children, adolescents, adults, families and couples.
I have worked with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma, substance abuse, family issues and relationship issues. I also have experience working with those struggling with self-esteem, PTSD and other mental health diagnoses such as Schizophrenia and Bipolar Disorder. I utilize a strengths-based, client-centered approach, providing individualized treatment based on the clients’ specific needs and identified goals.
I have a Master of Science degree in Psychology from Our Lady of the Lake University and received my Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from The University of Denver. I began providing therapeutic services in graduate school through the Community Counseling Services, working with a wide variety of clients from diverse backgrounds. I continued providing clinical services at UT Health’s Transitional Care Clinic, where I worked with adults with severe mental illness, at the Rape Crisis Center where I worked with children, adolescents, adults and families who have experienced trauma, and provided counseling services at a middle school through Communities In Schools. I have also provided clinical services at Starlite Recovery Center, working with adults, adolescents and families contending with addiction and substance abuse. Most recently, I have served as a counselor at the San Antonio Counseling and Behavioral Center, where I worked with children, adolescents, adults and couples.
I believe in working collaboratively with my clients by utilizing their strengths to help them overcome challenging situations in their lives. As every client is an individual with different circumstances and needs, my approach to treatment is first and foremost client-centered, which means it’s all about you! We will work together to help you achieve your goals. I have experience with a wide range of treatment modalities including Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Narrative Therapy and Art Therapy. I believe that each client is unique, therefore I will tailor my approach to best fit your needs.
